We are currently looking to add an Advisory Software Engineer to our team. As an Advisory Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing complex software components involving design, implementation, review and testing. You will also provide technical leadership to the current team and work across other engineering teams. You will participate in product planning with other teams within Vision Solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop software using Vision's software development processes and tools leading to the highest standard of software quality
Lead design and code reviews within a team environment to eliminate errors early in the development process
Lead problem determination and debugging of software product problems reported by customer or otherwise using technical skills and tools to isolate the cause of the problem in an efficient and timely manner
Take proactive actions to prevent customer issues and improve software offerings
Provide documentation and training needed to thoroughly communicate software functions to all other departments within Vision Solutions
Team lead and/or project management responsibilities
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
Six (6) plus years experience in software development or other software related areas
Solid background in Unix/AIX
Excellent programming skills in C/Java
Good understanding of Web technology
Knowledge of HA, DR, and Storage a strong plus
Ability to analyze complex programming problems and create algorithms and programming solutions
Excellent verbal and communications skills with the abilty to write design documentation and prepare technical presentations
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Experience as a Team Lead a plus
Results focused with good time management and personal management skills
Ability to be flexible and handle multiple priorities and focus and produce in-depth solutions
Strong self-management skills with ability to show initiative and take responsibility for issues and problems
Strong learning orientation
Ability to coach and train others
