    Job Description

    What We Do: The Pay Equity Team is focused on delivering on Payscale’s mission to #getpayright by providing comprehensive analytics on our customers compensation strategy to provide them insight on pay equity trends within their organization. As the product enters its next phase, we will be responsible for ensuring a scalable, performant, and maintainable platform.

    Day to Day:
    As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will: you will be a designing, building, and enhancing our systems so that the software is.

    • Design and build new systems delivered in an accurate, performant, and scalable manner and help our journey towards cloud native microservices.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentor/coach other engineers.
    • Collaborating closely with peers, architectural, platform and product managers.
    • Research and propose new technologies.
    • Identify and proactively tackle technical debt.
    • Identify improvements and participate on innovating our tools, services and integrations that are at the foundation of our product.


    Required Experience:

    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • 5+ years building and supporting well architected, service-based systems.
    • 5+ years writing Java code, experience with Hibernate and Spring Framework (Spring Boot) is a plus.
    • 2+ years with Front end development with Javascript/Angular/React (React preferred).
    • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and cloud native solutions.
    • Experience writing complicated SQL and an understanding of relational databases
    • Experience working with messaging frameworks
    • Experience with unit testing frameworks like Mockito or EasyMock.

    Nice to Have

    • Containerization, Docker, Kubernetes.
    • Experience with AWS, Azure or other public cloud
    • CI/CD knowledge
    • Experience working with Spring Boot.
    • Experience working with MariaDB.
    • Experience working with Apache Camel and Apache ActiveMQ.
